National Honor Society

The National Honor Society is the leader among educational organizations and societies that promotes recognition for students who reflect outstanding accomplishments in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service, and character. Membership of NHS is both an honor and a commitment.

NHS Officers and Duties
 
The Metropolitan Arts Institute NHS chapter consists of five officers and their members. Below is a detailed description of each officer and member's duties.
 
President - Boo Tamura
It shall be the duty of the president to conduct all chapter meetings, set agendas for meetings, coordinate and delegate work, serve as an intermediary, represent the chapter at other meetings required, take ultimate student responsibility for all chapter functioning, communicate all chapter activities to the chapter advisor, enforce chapter bylaws, and lead the club by the Constitution of the National Honor Society. 
 
Vice President - Marissa Luna
The vice-president shall fulfill the duties of the president as circumstances may require, oversee the number of community service hours each member fulfills and send hour deficit notices, lead and establish chapter committees to ensure smooth chapter operation, and assist the president in the chapter's public relations.
 
Secretary - Margarita Tzunum-Cotoc
The secretary shall take all chapter meeting minutes, maintain all electronic records, maintain all chapter rosters, and oversee publicity of chapter events and correspondence. 
 
Treasurer - Noelia Tamayo
The treasurer shall develop and maintain all chapter financial records, communicate with Metropolitan Arts Institute Director of Finance about chapter funding and accounts, oversee all chapter fundraising, and manage all chapter purchasing.
 
Historian - Annalise Lake
The historian shall maintain the chapter's website, update the chapter calendar, manage the submission of photos by members as part of their service requirement, and serve as the NHS liaison to the Metro Arts Yearbook Committee.
 
All Members
All NHS members shall complete the service hours required, maintain member grade requirements, attend all chapter meetings, adhere to the Constitution of the National Honor Society, and follow all Metropolitan Arts Institute Chapter Bylaws.
