C-Span awards ceremony- Way to go Metro film students!!!! Representatives from C-Span and Rep. Ruben Gallego's office were on hand to deliver awards and checks to the documentary film 1st prize winners Dani Mock-Zubi and Sofia Taglienti and 2nd prize winners Katie Menard, Christian Payne, and Alexander Walter.
Metro Student Mario Ochoa Wins First Place for the National Society of Arts and Letters On February 14th, Mario Ochoa won first place for the National Society of Arts and Letters Arizona Dance Scholarship. He will receive a scholarship totaling $500, and will perform for the NSAL Annual Arts Luncheon on April 30th.

Melissa Pfeiffer wins essay contest Metro Arts Junior Melissa Pfeiffer won the DAR Camelback Chapter's American History essay contest. This local success means that Melissa's essay is now being judged at the state level against other essays from throughout Arizona. Great work Melissa!

National Honor Society induction ceremony held on Friday October 16th. On Friday afternoon Metro hosted an induction ceremony for the newest members of the National Honor Society and Junior National Honor Society. Ten new students were admitted to this prestigious organization which recognizes student achievement, leadership capacity and community involvement. Members plan to give back to their community through service, art projects, and peer tutoring.
