Film Projects (Period 3)

Course Description

Film Projects is a course which involves writing, examining, and producing films and short videos in a variety of genres. This class will consist of lectures, discussions, hands-on workshops, screenings, and in-class assignments. Students are expected to actively engage in discussions and presentations. An overview of the basics of film production will be the foundation of this course, complemented by creative and reflective writing. This class is eligible for new students and for students who have already taken the course. This course is group- oriented in scope and students should expect the course to function as an ongoing production team, working on original segments for Metro Lately—a school news program with limitless potential for original and creative work. Students will have the opportunity to “wear many hats” on each of the productions—learning about the wide variety of positions on set and having consistent, hands-on experiences in the various stages of production.
