Teacher Rose Torres (Professional Development)

Teacher Rose Torres (Middle School Humanities and Theater) recently attended a local Professional Development workshop hosted by Scottsdale Community College. This workshop covered effectively including genocide in social studies and English curriculum. During the workshop, teachers were provided with primary and secondary resources that will equip them with the tools needed to teach a difficult topic such as genocide in their own classrooms. During the lunch break, Ms. Torres was able to meet Scottsdale mayor David Ortega and participate in a flower-laying ceremony at Scottsdale Community College's Armenian Genocide Monument to honor all victims of genocide.
