Veronica Fedri is a finalist for the Mayor's Arts Award in the category of Young Artist. During her time at Metro Arts, Veronica has excelled in both academics and the arts, studying film, photo, drawing, and painting.
2019 Metro Arts graduate Mariana Torres had the opportunity to meet senator Tony Navarrete and show her work. Some of Mariana’s work will be showcased at the State Capital. Congratulation’s Mariana!
Antigone runs from May 3-19 at Now & Then Creative Company, performing in the theatre at Metropolitan Arts Institute (1700 N. 7th Ave.). Friday and Saturday shows at 7:30pm, Sundays at 2pm. Mara was awarded the $3,600 renewable annual ASU Medallion Scholarship which is one of the most competitive scholarships awarded by ASU. She was also nominated by Metro Arts for the Leadership Scholarship Program (LSP), and was one of only 25 students selected for this program which includes a four-year full ride scholarship.
KK’s film — A WOMAN’S TOUCH — was developed in Metro's Advanced Film Class during a genre study in comedy. The film was screened this past weekend at the festival and everyone can enjoy the hilarious film through the link to Metro Film Department’s Vimeo Channel. Congrats, KK!
Congratulations to Monet Alvaraz on her award. The U.S. Figure Skating Graduating Seniors Award recognizes the hard work of student athletes who have participated in figure skating throughout high school; awards are given at the Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Bronze level based off a skater’s level of competitive achievement in high school. Selection for this award speaks to a skater’s continued commitment to succeeding in their athletic and academic endeavors.
