Leslie Baron Reich grew up in New York City. She attended the H.S. of Art & Design as well as Parson’s School of Design and graduated from the Fashion Institute of Technology with a degree in Patternmaking and Fashion Design- all in N.Y.
Leslie was a Childrenswear Fashion Designer for 8 years, working for Liz Claiborne in NY, as well as other fashion houses on “7th Avenue”- the country’s center of Fashion & Design.
After relocating to the West Coast, she continued her career as a Childrenswear Designer in Los Angeles and San Francisco for another 10 years. After her 2 children started school, she transitioned to teaching Visual Art in the community as well as the local public schools. She continued her art instruction career, teaching elementary & middle school students in Arizona at both public, private and charter schools. She has taught after-school Fashion Design classes as well.
During her ‘down time’, Leslie is a Mosaic artist, creating home decor items from all sorts of tile and found objects. She has showcased and sold her art at various art shows throughout the metro Phoenix area. Leslie is also an avid Vintage hunter, collector and reseller, managing 2 online Vintage shops.
Leslie is very excited to start a new chapter in her teaching career, teaching Middle School Visual Art at Metropolitan Arts Institute.
Why Metro Arts?
Having attended an Arts High School myself, I know how enriching and stimulating this special environment will be for all the students and how it will shape their future. I’m so to be part of it.
