Music Production

Personal Information-
Mike Hissong graduated from The Conservatory of Recording Arts and Sciences in 1995.  Starting in 1995 worked as Recording Engineer at Living Head Audio recording, Work on various projects in various genres anything thing from Hip-Hop to Country.  Also did a lot freelance work at various studios including The Grey Room, Chaton, Sound Lab and many others.  Also worked for Clear Cut acoustics doing Mobile recordings including Phoenix Symphony Orchestra. 

After moving to New York for a couple of years in the early 2000's doing free lance Music Production, Post Production and live sound he moved back to Phoenix to continue work at Living Head.  Around this Time he got an offer to go on tour with a band called The Locust from San Diego,  over the next 6 or 7 years he toured around the world doing Front of House sound for The Locust, Some Girls, and Red Sparrows. 

In 2006 when a Project he was producing was looking for a studio to record at Mike found 513 Analog (now called Five Thirteen).  Although it was only intended to be a freelance session for this one record Mike ended up staying at Five Thirteen as well as working at Living Head.

In 2008 after Living Head closed its doors Mike got an offer from Andy Seagle to teach Studio 1 at Mesa Community College.  Sense then Mike has taught Studio 1, Studio 2, Studio 3 and DAW at Mesa Community College.

Why Metro Arts?

I think it being an Art School allows for a more creative mind set out of both students and teachers.
