Course Description

Spanish level two is designed to enhance the level one student’s foundation in the Spanish language and to attain a deeper understanding of the Hispanic/Latino culture through engagement, activities, speaking, listening, reading, and writing. Students will be able to communicate and understand the language for a variety of purposes, acquire a more advanced vocabulary and grammar in the subject matter and skills that will allow them to make connections between their everyday lives and that of others. A key to their acquisition of the language will be through cultural sensitivity, awareness and appreciation of the local and international Hispanic/Latino populations through exposure, art, literature, historic events, and language. By the end of the year, students will know how to use additional basic language skills and vocabulary in a variety of real life scenarios.
