Advanced Film

Advanced Film is a course which involves writing, examining, and producing films and short videos in a variety of genres. This class will consist of lectures, discussions, hands-on workshops, screenings, and in-class assignments. In this class, students will also develop a sense of who they are as filmmakers. Each student will be required to complete at least one personal film where he or she is the director. A review of the basics of film production and history, as well as a closer examination of contemporary directors, foreign films, and video art will be the foundation of the course. This will also be complemented by periodic self-evaluations and creative writing assignments.
